Chelsea to unveil new signing ‘in the next 24 hours’
Finally some good news for Chelsea
It’s been a terrible few days for Chelsea fans, a little over a month before the Premier League starts up again.
So far this summer, aside from bringing in Willy Caballero from Man City, the reigning EPL champs have failed to recruit any significant summer signings.
To make matters worse, it’s beginning to look inevitable that Blues target Romelu Lukaku is joining Man United, while rumours have also begun linking Tiemoue Bakayoko with a move to Old Trafford instead of Stamford Bridge.
But the Mirror on Sunday have some good news for Chelsea, reporting they are set to unveil a new signing “in the next 24 hours”.
Defensive boost
AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger is set to be a Chelsea player by the end of Sunday.
Rudiger only joined Roma permanently last summer for a fee of £7.6m after a successful loan spell the previous season. His valuation has increased more than four times since then, showing the inflated state of the transfer market.
It’s also worth noting that Rudiger is an Arsenal fan.
Antonio Rudiger will be unveiled as a Chelsea player in the next 24 hours.
The Roma defender is undertaking his medical today following a £34 million move.
Chelsea chased Rudiger last summer, after Antonio Conte’s arrival, but a serious knee injury meant the German defender missed Euro 2016 and his big transfer to London.
