Barcelona have a deal in place to sign Yerry Mina, claims agent
The agent of Palmeiras defender Yerry Mina has claimed that Barcelona have a deal in place to sign his client in 2018.
Mina is one of the standout young centre-backs in world football, with the 22-year-old having helped Palmeiras to win the league title at the club in his first season following his switch from Santa Fe.
It is anticipated that Mina will spend another year at Palmeiras as he looks to go to the World Cup with Colombia but the prospect is subsequently set to make the switch to the Nou Camp.
As reported by Football Espana, Felipe Russo said: “For now, he’s staying in Brazil, but after that he’ll land in the Spanish League in 2018.
“His dream has always been to play for the Blaugrana. Why should those hopes be broken when it comes to, from my point of view, the best technical project for him?
“He’ll stay at Palmeiras for another season because he’s happy there and he wants to be in good shape for the World Cup. For me, there’s zero chance that things will change.”
Mina has been strongly linked with Barcelona since last year and it now appears that a deal could eventually come to fruition.
Capped nine times at senior level by Colombia, Mina made it into the Brazilian league team of the year and will be aiming to enjoy another successful season in Brazil ahead of hopefully making the step up to play in La Liga.
