Dani Alves Joins PSG

The 34-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 giants, following one season in Turin with Juventus, and he is relishing the opportunity to play with a new set of world-class team-mates ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was also expressing a strong interest in Alves, which the Brazilian has admitted, but family reasons saw him settle on Paris this summer.
‘I had interest not just from Manchester City, but also other English clubs,’ Alves revealed at his unveiling on Wednesday.

‘I often said the Premier League interested me a great deal, they had an interesting project and I spoke with Man City officials. However, I have friends here in Paris and my wife loves the city.
‘I was a little selfish when I went to Juve. I didn’t listen to my wife or friends. This time, I tried to be less selfish and to please everyone. I believe in happiness, that’s why I came here.’

Alves revealed the prospect of playing alongside Verratti played a major part in his decision making.
He stated: ‘I came here to play with Marco Verratti, that’s the message I want him to get. I hope he can help us win the Champions League.
