Alvaro Morata drops a huge hint on his Chelsea squad number



Following his move from Real Madrid to Chelsea last week, Alvaro Morata has now joined up with his new Blues team mates in Singapore.

Morata should replace Diego Costa in the Chelsea squad, after Antonio Conte told Costa his future with the Blues is over.

The transfer is expected to cost the Blues a fee in the region of 80 million euros plus bonuses, while Alvaro Morata has put pen to paper on a five year deal.

Squad number
Many have been wondering what number shirt Morata will wear at Stamford Bridge next season, and the 24-year-old Spanish international appears to have a dropped a huge hint on social media on Sunday.

The former Los Blancos star has engaged with a fan’s post on social media, which showed a Chelsea-Morata shirt with the number 9 on the back.

Morata ‘liked’ the Instagram post.

More clues
If that wasn’t enough, Chelsea also appeared to have revealed Morata will wear the number 9 shirt too.

On Chelsea’s official website, Morata has been placed in either the number 8 or 9 position in the Blues squad, between N’Golo Kante and Eden Hazard.
