Top 24-year-old striker hoping Chelsea will sign him this summer – report
Alvaro Morata is now hoping that he will sign for Chelsea this summer after his apparent snub by Manchester United, say reports.
Alvaro Morata has been left “shocked” by Manchester United’s pursuit of Romelu Lukaku and is now hoping Chelsea try to sign him this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Independent is reporting that Morata was convinced that he was set to become a Manchester United player and was even expecting to be on the plane to the United States for the Red Devils’ pre-season tour on Sunday.
However, as widely reported on Thursday, Manchester United appear to have now turned their attentions towards signing Belgian striker Lukaku from Everton.
That move has now left Morata “in limbo” and the 24-year-old is now hoping that Antonio Conte will step up his efforts to bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer, according to the report in the Independent.
The same report states that a deal could happen because Conte is a long-term admirer of Morata and had planned to sign him last summer after his arrival at Chelsea.
